Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 Aug 2026
These terms govern your use of Solstice — the website, the booking service, and the trips booked through it. By browsing the site, creating an account, or booking a trip, you accept them. Please read them before you book.
Solstice is operated by Qumm Shams for Trips Company, a limited liability company registered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Commercial Registration: 1009050995
- Tourism licence: 73105500 — General Travel and Tourism Services, Tour Operation

Where these terms say "we", "us" or "Solstice", they mean that company. "You" means the person using the site or making a booking.
What Solstice does
Solstice offers guided trips in Saudi Arabia. Trips are led by guides we have reviewed and approved, and are offered under our tourism licence.
Before a trip is published we review how it is described, and we check that the guide holds the certifications their trip requires and that those certifications are still valid. We take payment, we handle changes, cancellations and refunds, and we are the point of contact if something goes wrong.
Who can book
You must be 18 or over to make a booking. Individual trips may set a higher minimum age, which is shown on the trip page. Some trips also carry fitness requirements or other conditions — these are shown before you pay, and it is your responsibility to read them and decide honestly whether the trip suits you and everyone you are booking for.
Your account
You can book without creating an account. If you do sign in, we do not use passwords: we send a one-time code to your mobile number or email address.
Keep your contact details up to date — they are how we reach you, and how we confirm it is you. Do not share a sign-in code with anyone. We will never ask you for one, and anyone who does is not us.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Saudi Riyals and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payment is taken in full at the time of booking, through a payment provider licensed in Saudi Arabia. Your card details are entered with that provider, not with us.
Your booking is confirmed only once payment has succeeded. Until then, your place is held for a limited period shown during checkout, and is released automatically if payment is not completed in time. Holding a place is not the same as having a booking.
Places on each departure are limited. If a departure fills while you are paying, we will tell you and refund you in full.
If a price is displayed incorrectly because of an obvious error, we may cancel the affected booking and refund you in full rather than honour the wrong price. We will tell you as soon as we notice.
The contact details you enter at checkout
This part matters more than it looks, so please read it carefully.
The contact name, mobile number and email address you enter when booking decide where we send trip information, and how that booking can be reached later. They do not have to be your own. If you are booking for someone else, enter the details of the person who should receive the information about the trip.
Anyone who can confirm they hold that contact mobile number or email address can see the booking and act on it, including cancelling it. That is deliberate — it is what lets a booking made for a family member or a colleague be managed by the person actually going.
Two protections come with it. Refunds always go back to whoever originally paid, never to whoever performed the cancellation. And we record who acted and inform the account holder.
Please enter these details carefully. A mistyped number or address means the trip information goes to someone else.
After you book
We send a confirmation containing your booking reference, the date, the meeting details and a link you can use to view or manage the booking. Keep it — that link is how you reach the booking without signing in.
If you forward that link to someone else, they will be able to see the booking too. Cancelling through it requires an additional confirmation code sent to the booking's own contact details.
Check the confirmation when it arrives. If anything is wrong, tell us straight away rather than on the day.
If the guide changes the trip
Guides sometimes need to change a trip after you have booked.
Small presentational changes — wording, photographs, minor detail — are made without notice.
More significant changes, such as the itinerary, what is included, what to bring, or the safety information, are reviewed by us before they take effect, and we will tell you what changed. Where a change is significant enough to affect what you agreed to, you will be given a period in which you can cancel for a full refund instead of accepting it. If you do nothing within that period, the booking continues on the updated terms.
The price you agreed at checkout does not change. If a guide later changes the price of a trip, that applies only to new bookings.
If you want to change or cancel
Each trip carries a cancellation policy, shown before you pay and fixed at the moment you book. What you can recover depends on that policy and on how far ahead of the trip you cancel. See our Refund Policy for the detail.
To cancel, use the link in your confirmation, or sign in and cancel from your bookings, or contact us.
If you want to change the number of participants or move to a different date, contact us. We will do what we can, but changes depend on availability and on what the guide can accommodate, and we cannot promise them.
If we or the guide cancel
If a departure is cancelled by us or by the guide — including for weather, safety, or because too few people booked — you receive a full refund. Where we can, we will offer you an alternative date first, but you are never obliged to take it.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method, or issued as platform credit, depending on the circumstances. We will tell you which applies.
Platform credit
Platform credit can be put towards future bookings. It is tied to the account it was issued to, may carry an expiry date, and cannot be transferred or sold.
Where credit is eligible to be paid out in cash, we will say so and you can request it. Credit is not a deposit, does not earn any return, and has no value outside Solstice.
On the day
Arrive at the stated meeting point at the stated time. Allow for traffic and parking. If you arrive late, the guide may start without you, and no refund is due.
Follow the guide's instructions, particularly on safety. A guide may refuse to take you, or end your participation during the trip, if you are not fit to take part, are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or behave in a way that puts you or others at risk. No refund is due in those cases.
Tell us in advance about any medical condition, medication, allergy or accessibility need that could affect your participation, so that the guide can plan for it or tell you honestly if the trip is not suitable.
You are responsible for your own belongings, and for anyone under 18 in your party.
Reviews
Only people who booked and completed a trip can review it, and a review is tied to that booking.
A review must be your own honest account of your own experience. We may remove one that is abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, unrelated to the trip, contains someone's personal information, or appears to be an attempt to manipulate ratings. If we remove your review we will tell you why, and you can ask us to look again.
For guides
Guides apply, are verified, and are approved before they can publish anything.
As a guide you are responsible for delivering the trip as it is described, holding valid certifications for what you offer, keeping your availability accurate, meeting your customers at the stated place and time, and following our safety requirements.
You are paid a share of the trip price after the trip has run, at the rate set by your tier. Your tier can change based on the criteria we publish.
You must not solicit bookings, payment, or contact outside Solstice. That rule exists to protect customers — off-platform arrangements have no payment protection, no refund route, no insurance position, and no record if something goes wrong.
We may pause a trip, suspend an account, or end our arrangement where the requirements above are not met.
Things you must not do
- Use someone else's payment method without their permission.
- Arrange payment or trips with a guide outside Solstice.
- Use someone else's contact details to reach a booking that is not yours.
- Interfere with the service, try to get around its access controls, or collect data from it automatically.
- Post unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your qualifications or identity.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and we will usually tell you why.
Our content
The Solstice name, the site, and its design and text belong to us or our licensors. Guides own the descriptions and photographs they upload and give us permission to display and promote them. Do not copy our content for commercial use without permission.
Our responsibility
Guided trips in the outdoors carry risk that cannot be removed. We take safety seriously — reviewing trips, verifying certifications, and requiring guides to follow our safety rules — but you take part accepting that risk.
We are responsible for providing the service with reasonable care and skill and for meeting our obligations under Saudi consumer and tourism law. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for matters outside our reasonable control — including weather, road conditions and closures, and decisions by authorities.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. Contact us as soon as you can, and where possible while you are still on the trip, so that we have a chance to put it right.
We will look into what happened and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, say so and we will review it again before treating the matter as closed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the competent courts in Riyadh have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version. A change will not be applied retrospectively to a booking you have already made.
